Public Affairs Plan

The NHQ/PA office has provided this Four Step Planning Process in Public Affairs document for your use.

Unit PAOs should review the following (at least) annually:

The PAO has identified and established the following goals and objectives for the next PA Plan cycle:

1.    Goal: Have WAWG PA presence and input at Encampment and Flight Academy.

2.    Goal: Ensure commanders assigned to PAO role are not overtasked and are actively engaged in the role.

3.    Goal: Improve communications between Wing, Group and Unit PAOs and the members managing social media accounts.

4.    Goal: Ensure PAO and/or CC has access to social media accounts for continuity and oversight.

5.    Goal: Ensure social media and website information is properly submitted/approved in eServices.

6.    Goal: Ensure prospective members who contact our social media platforms receive timely responses.

7.    Goal: Support the Strategic/Public Affairs/Marketing Plan, Strategies, and Goals established by Civil Air Patrol National and Regional Headquarters.

8.    Goal: Increase public awareness and understanding of Civil Air Patrol, its missions, and the activities of its members in Washington, wherever and whenever possible.

9.    Goal: Promote cooperation between, and increase awareness of Civil Air Patrol’s operations and disaster relief capabilities with other local first responders and emergency services organizations.

10.    Goal: Promote cooperation between, and increase local community awareness of, Civil Air Patrol and other aviation organizations within local business, government, industry, and civic groups.

CAPP 900-2, Civil Air Patrol Name, Seal, Logo, Command Emblem and Flag Etiquette

This regulation describes the Civil Air Patrol name, seal, logo, and command emblem and prescribes policies for their use. This regulation also prescribes policy for use and display of United States and Civil Air Patrol flags and ceremonial destruction of the United States flag. • View CAPR 900-2

CAPR 120-1, Information Technology Security

This regulation establishes policies and procedures for the management of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) electronic information, communication and data systems including, but not limited to servers, network systems, personal computers, software applications, websites, web applications and data files. This regulation is applicable to all CAP units and volunteer National staff.• View CAPR 120-1 (CAPR 110-1 now obsolete)Note: Units are required to submit records for all online web accounts (including Social Media) in eServices per 5.2.1.

5.2.1. CAP units conducting CAP Internet Operations (including CAP.gov domains) must obtain and maintain a record of approval from the next higher commander. The CAP/COO or designee approves CAPNHQ.gov domain delegations. Requests for CAP.gov or CAP.US domain services must be submitted through eServices to the CAP.gov Administrator (http://ns1.cap.gov/).
